Terrance Hayes on The Social Distance Reading Series

Terrance Hayes’ recent publications include American Sonnets For My Past And Future Assassin (Penguin 2018), and To Float In The Space Between: Drawings and Essays in Conversation with Etheridge Knight (Wave, 2018). He is Professor of English at New York University. His website is terrancehayes.com.

About Wanda Coleman

Wanda Coleman-poet, storyteller and journalist-was born and raised in South Central Los Angeles. Coleman was awarded the 1999 Lenore Marshall Poetry Prize for Bathwater Wine from the American Academy of Poets and was a finalist for the 2001 National Book Award for Poetry for Mercurochrome. Wicked Enchantment: Selected Poems is the first new collection of her work since her death in 2013.

We’re thrilled to host The Social Distance Reading Series, a collaboration between Green Mountains Review and The Vermont School poets. In the wake of book event cancellations due to COVID-19, this pop-up series is designed to offer poets a platform for launching new collections of poems. At this point, we are focusing on collections by poets whose book events have been cancelled between January through May 2020.
