We are very excited to announce the winners of the second annual Neil Shepard Prizes in Poetry and Fiction.
The Neil Shepard Prize in Poetry, judged this year by Mark Halliday, goes to Doug Ramspeck for his poem “Sacred Music.” The finalists for the Neil Shepard Prize in Poetry are Christine Gelineau, Christine Rhein, and Jessamyn Smyth.
The Neil Shepard Prize in Fiction, judged this year by Josip Novakovich, goes to Erin Somers for her story “The Melt.” The finalists were Melissa Goodrich for “He Is the Animal,” David Nutt for “Superior Parachutes,” and Kyle Mellen for “Things Nobody Tells You.”
Congratulations this year’s winners and finalists! And a big thanks to all of the entrants, who will receive a copy of the prize issue in the fall, and whose work we are continuing to consider over the summer for publication during the coming year.
